Colors
We are certainly going for a "fall" look. I love the brown color for bridesmaids and as the main color then adding in the green and orange with a touch of reds possibly.
Pumpkins
We love the thought of using pumpkins all over the reception. I have a good friend who LOVES to carve pumpkiins and has told me he'll carve anything we want!
Centerpieces
Centerpieces - we are looking for something simple and easy. I have vases that I'm going to fill with coffee beans and then add a candle. (This will be on 1/3 of the tables)
2nd Centerpiece
We have a bunch of amber colored glass pumpkins - this is the best picture I could get online that looks like them. They will have a candle inside of them and probably something else like votives around them.
3rd Centerpiece
We are planning on doing a little floral (as we should, my brother is a professional florist and designs for companies out in New York) but we also don't want TOO much floral - so we're thinking of something simple with the pumpkin!
The Cake
We loved this cake the 1st time we saw it and still do - something simple and plain!
Favors...
Caramel apples are our favors - a long/short story behind them...
My grandfather (mom's dad) planted an apple tree when I was born becuase I was his Goddaughter and wanted to do something very special for me. I grew up under that tree - when we would spend time up at their house I would sit outside and play all day in that tree, he measured me on that tree etc. In 1992 he passed away from cancer, but before doing so he told me to always look at an apple tree and think of him. I found out recently that one of his favorite things to eat was a caramel apple (after we decided to do them for favors). It was just the icing on the cake and I will know that on my wedding day my grandfather will always be with me! I'm very very excited!!!!

Our Guestbooks...
We wanted something fun as far as our guestbook was concerned. We both love sports and are certainly ones to root on the hometown teams! We love the Twins (along with the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Wild)... Grant also has a lot of sports "stuff" hanging up all over his place. We thought it would be awesome to have a custom jersey with our name and date on it and then ask guests to sign their names so we can frame it and hang it in our "sports" room.
We also plan on having a more "traditional" guestbook (if traditional means the new fad of photo books...) I'm going to make a photo book and print it out so that guests are able to sign and leave us a message. I love making these photobooks and have a lot of them already so why not for our wedding add to them!?
